It’s that time of year again. The weight of completing your continuing education courses to maintain your mortgage license weighs heavy on your shoulders. If this is you, you are not alone. The SAFE Act requires that licensed mortgage loan originators (or MLOs) complete 8 hours of NMLS approved education which includes the following:
Note that the SAFE Act’s Successive Year Rule states that an MLO may not take the same course two years in a row. Repeat courses will not be counted for CE credit. Before registering for a course, be sure to check the course description in the NMLS Course Catalog to see if the course shares content with another course. If it shares content with another course, it will not count as CE credit if you take it two years in a row.
